LG offers up new 34UC89G-B 34in ultra-wide HD monitor – Peripherals – Monitors

And it’s got Gsync as well.

We know we’re all waiting for the holy grail – a large, curved monitor, with Gsync, with at least 1440p resolution. And they’re coming – both Asus and Acer have a couple of what Nvidia is calling “very premium” monitors on the way.

In the meantime, though, everyone’s releasing ultra-wide, curved Gsync monitors at a less demanding 2560 x 1080 resolution.

These monitors are in a weird middle ground right now. Their features – like LG’s new 34UC89G-B – keep the price point up above $1000, but the resolution is more suited to lower-end gaming. Still, in everything else LG’s new monitor impresses. Gsync makes for smooth refresh rates, matched with a 144Hz refresh rate (which can be overclocked up to 166Hz). There’s the usual range of borderline cheats such as Crosshair and Black Stabiliser, while Dynamic Action Sync reduces input lag, while the panel itself is a IPS display capable of showing 99 per cent of the sRGB color space.

The 34UC89G-B retails for $US999.
