AMD’s newest processor is one of its most successful launches ever.
We love AMD’s new Ryzen CPUs – they deliver great performance at a smashing price point. And we’re not the only ones smitten, as PassMark is reporting a generous increase in AMD’s CPU market share.
Last quarter the chip-maker had 18 per cent of the market, but post-Ryzen that figure has risen (hur-hurr) to a shade over 26 per cent.
This percentage is based upon PCs, not console chips, and is built up from submitted benchmarks from PerformanceTest benchmarks submitted by users of Windows machines. So it’s not a complete snapshot, but it is a pretty solid indicator of a trend in favour of AMD.
